CH3 Logo and History

The Official Logo of the Charlotte Hash House Harriers, adopted January 9th, 1994 at the ON-IN for Hash #41. First used as the patch for CH3's 100th Hash, May 7th 1995.

The Charlotte Hash House Harriers were founded on Saturday, July 18th, 1992, as the Hornets Nest HHH. The founding GM was Paul "Fleet Strider" Meyer. After 41 Hashes, on January 9th, 1994, the Hash was re-christened as the Charlotte Hash House Harriers. One of the earliest surviving trashes of that lost era gives this original logo.

The early logo of the HN-HHH was the the Hornets Nest. The Hornets Nest is the most powerful historic symbol of Mecklenburg County. Banastre Tarleton, a British officer, stated that Charlotte was a "Hornets Nest" when he and the British army, headed by Charles Cornwallis, occupied Charlotte in September-October 1780 during the American Revolutionary War. Little Charlottetown, his Lordship had found, was indeed "an agreeable village, but in a damned rebellious country." The residents of this community have embraced that name, even giving the name "Hornets" to Charlotte's NBA basketball team.

Important Moments in Hash History:

September, 1938- The Hash House Harriers were founded at the Selangor Club (aka the Hash House) in Kuala Lumpur, British Malaya by one Albert Stephen Ignatius Gispert. 

July  18th, 1992- Hornets Nest HHH run number 1. The Charlotte Hash is born. Founded by Fleet Strider. Hash was at 3pm at Providence Sq. Shopping Center. 8 Hashers and 2 hares.

August 2nd,1992- Blow Pop's first Hash at trail #2. He thinks he was at #1 but the records say otherwise.

August 8th, 1993- Tom "Ice Princess" Barto becomes Joint Master, Fred "HLA Moose" Vohwinkel becomes RA. CH3's first AGM

November 14th,1993- Ice Princess is re-named Blow Pops.

November 28th, 1993- HLA Moose down-downs for his 25th Hash.

January 9th, 1994- Hash re-named Charlotte Hash House Harriers. New Logo adopted. Hash #41.

February 13th, 1994- Virgin Hardy makes first run with CH3. As Peter Extension, he would later go on to found the Upstate(SC)HHH in Greenville, SC.

May 15th, 1994- Blow Pops hares the 50th Charlotte Hash.

June 18th 1994- Virgin David Lukowski hashes for the first time at run #54.

Sept. 13rd, 1994- Baloney Pony's first Hash. CH3 goes weekly. Virgin David becomes Retread. Renamed Cinderfella about 200 Hashes latter.

Oct. 9th, 1994- Hash #69

Oct. 22nd, 1994- Hash #71 is also the first ever Hippie Hash in Boone. There would be 3 more Hippie Hashes in Boone before the franchise dies. 

May 7th, 1995- Charlotte Hash #100, hared by Crotch Shot, soon to be How Nice.

Nov. 5th, 1995- The Webfoot 900th memorial Hash, at the CH3's run #129

Feb. 11th, 1996- Swamp Pussy and Mother Puckers virgin Hashes with the CH3 at #144. A VD Hash. Mother Pucker named a month later on Blow Pop's roof.

July  25th, 1998- Charlotte H3 hosts the 5th Anal NC/SC Intercourse uptown at the Ascot Inn. "Feel the Pleasure of the Unseen Elegance!"

April 25th, 1999- Just Tom, later to become High Balls, hashes with CH3 for the first time at Uranus' 1st ever Cum-I-Want-To-Lay-Ya, Hawaii Theme Hash. CH3 Hash #294. 

Jun. 13th, 1999- Hash number 300! at Lake Quake.

Jul. 29th, 2000- Charlotte Hares kick off the new G-Spot HHH in Greensboro, NC. (CH3 Hash #359)

Oct. 14th, 2000- Charlotte Hash #369 brings a pub-crawl and a bus full of Trash.

Feb. 11th, 2001- Swamp Pussy hares his 169th Hash (CH3 hash #384) after 5 years with the CH3. 

Mar. 9th, 2001- First trail of the Carolina Moon Hash House Harriers. Our first splinter hash runs bi-weekly at night. Founded by Penguin Fucker. Quickly dies.

June 9th, 2001- Charlotte Hash #400 brings an uptown Pub Crawl and Hash.

Jan 5th, 2002- Charlotte Hash #427, annual Red Dress Run

Jan 26th, 2002- Charlotte Hash #430, our 2nd annual and only 3rd ever AGM brings in new mismanagement. 

April, 2002- End of an Error. High Balls decides to clean pools for the elderly in Florida and Mother Pucker takes off on a 6 month junket never to return. We give them a great party then tell them both to fuck off and not come back. ONON to both! 

Nov. 9th, 2002- Charlotte Hash #469, Another milestone is reached with all our friends joining in the celebration uptown.  

Jun. 21st, 2003- Charlotte Hash #500, Another milestone is reached with all our friends joining in the celebration out by the lake on Copperhead Island. 

Aug. 8th, 2004- Charlotte Hash #562, Lake Quake #5 continues the anal tradition of a lakeside party. Hosted by Fish and Sticky.  

Oct. 29th-30th, 2004- Goth Hash 2 sets in motion a new annual Halloween party.
